Scouting & P.R.A.Y. – OPPORTUNITIES!

The UMM Foundation supports Scouting and the mission to raise up and equip a generation of young people with Christ-centered values and experiences. The P.R.A.Y. [Programs of Religious Activities with Youth] project within Scouting offers a framework and process to connect youth through an immersive process that is educational and in many cases life-altering.

YOU may become an agent of change by supporting an initiative to open doors for more youth to participate!

The Challenge

Opportunities to connect with faith are decreasing. Fewer families are attending church. Those involved in Scouting Ministries are looking for a way for their children to learn and grow. They want their youth to have a path to earn their religious recognition. We need to increase the opportunities and decrease the barriers to growing in faith.

Faith today and tomorrow goals

  • Faith Today: scholarship 3,000 youths the cost of registration, class materials, and a completion certifi cate ($7)
  • Faith Tomorrow: Build the base for an annual scholarship program ($6)
  • Partnership setting the stage for long-term support for faith and commitment to youth moving forward.

Our Proposal

  • Each church or member engaged with a Scout group or not will have the opportunity to directly support youths’ learning faith
  • Each conference engages in supporting and growing youth in faith
    • Requests for scholarships can go to Scouting Ministries or through P.R.A.Y.
    • The cost of the annual virtual P.R.A.Y. courses will be supplied through Scouting Ministries and coordinated through volunteers.
